26 Jul Alvaro Siviero receives public praise from Affonso Arinos
At the ABL-Academia Brasileira de Letras, Siviero ignites the audience with the energy of romantic composers. The special guest of the recital was the violinist Rudá Alves
Celebrating the centennial of Machado de Assis, the Academia Brasileira de Letras promoted recitals honoring the famous Brazilian writer. Alvaro Siviero and the violinist Rudá Alves were invited to participate in the season of recitals. Among several personalities, the pianist had the honor of hearing from the diplomat and writer Affonso Arinos an eloquent compliment, when this member of the Academy said to the audience that he could not remember when a piano recital of such magnitude had happened in the Academy Concert Hall. The recital reached its climax after the interpretation of works by Liszt.
Affonso Arinos started his diplomatic career in 1952 in the commission of the International Organizations on Division of Acts, Congress and International Conferences of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Between 1956 and 1959 was the second secretary at the Brazilian Embassy in Rome and in between 1963 and 1964, the first secretary at the Embassy of Brazil in Brussels. After the recital, the pianist and guests could walk by the Academy and enjoy the specially prepared expo devoted to the centennial celebration of Machado de Assis.
