On September 19th, 21st and 13th – in the cities of Curitiba, Londrina and Maringá, respectively – and on October 17th and 20th – in the Dutch city of Rotterdam – the excellent Sinfonia Rotterdam – under the baton of Conrad van Alphen – and the pianist Alvaro Siviero performed in the largest Concert halls in each of these cities, including the Centro Cultural Teatro Guaira (Curitiba) and De Doelen (Rotterdam), reaching over 6,000 people. On the 19th, in the morning, the pianist and the orchestra visited the facilities of Colégio Bosque-Mananiais, a reference educational institution that benefited from the presentation that had all its income reverted to educational causes in the city of Curitiba. The same happened in Londrina, with income reverted to Colegio Navegantes. After the concerts in the Brazilian cities of the State of Paraná, SR won the audience offering as encores several works that mark the national culturality, such as the Carinhoso, by Pixinguinha. In Holland, Siviero offered as encore our greatest composer: Villa-Lobos.
Sinfonia Rotterdam and Siviero had already artistically teamed up in celebrated performances with Shostakovich and Beethoven’s Piano Concerti. This time, the musical union took place through Grieg’s Piano Concerto. See some photos and video of the presentation at the De Doelen room, in Rotterdam.
